Paris Knights
In June of this year, two groups of excited pupils eagerly anticipated their trip ahead to the beautiful city of Paris!
In Knightswood Secondary School, a selection of senior pupils, and another group of pupils from first to third year, embarked on separate visits. A dazzling reward for hard work.
It was a long journey by coach for the 140 or so S1 to S3 pupils, but it was worth it for an incredible tour of the City of Light which included a journey down the River Seine and a visit to the Eiffel Tower.
But the fun didn’t end there as they headed to Disneyland and Disney Studios for a fantastic experience. Not even the teachers were exempt from some of the scarier rides!
The 18 pupils from S4 to S6, took the quick route, flying direct to Charles de Gaulle airport on the outskirts of Paris. It was the start of a whirlwind three days, which included visits to the breath-taking Louvre, stunning Sacre Coeur and renowned Eiffel Tower. There was also a beautiful walk along the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe.
The intrepid explorers enjoyed it all, though there were a few hairy moments with sardine tin trains and overenthusiastic street venders. However they took it all in their stride as Glaswegians and it added to their experience of France.
All in all, the pupils loved every minute of their time abroad and there were more than a few long faces at the airport and on the coaches going home. Paris, Knightswood won’t say adieu, but à la prochaine – until next time!
