Hillpark's Veledrome Trip
A group of fifteen S3 pupils got the chance of a lifetime to visit and use the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome. For four 2 hour sessions the pupils got to see what it is like to cycle in one of Scotland’s best facilities. Each pupil has been taught how to use the bikes on the track, which is easier said than done, considering they have NO brakes.
They also learned the rules of competitive track cycling and how to use the track to generate speed. As a result of this course all pupils will be able to cycle the track by renting a bike whenever they can with the accreditation they have. The pupils that went on this course were fantastic and represented the school brilliantly.
