Cross My Heart Author meets P7

Carmen Reid, mum of former pupil Claudie Quinn is an author who has recently published her new book “Cross my heart”.

The book is set in Belgium in WW2 . It is about a teenage girl called Nicole who joins the resistance when the Nazis invade. Carmen came in to talk to us about what it was like to be living at that time. This was extremely helpful as our topic is WW2.

Carmen had put together an interesting Powerpoint to show us. She also read us a thrilling episode from her book. At the end we got the chance to ask questions about the book and her life as an author. Then many of us bought a signed copy for £4. We thoroughly enjoyed this visit and are very grateful to Carmen for her time.
