Glasgow and Malawi get connected

Glasgow and Malawi get connected

For the last few years, Hillpark Secondary School has been raising money to help support Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals is a charity dedicated to giving children a meal every day in their place of learning. Through their “Sponsor a School” programme, Hillpark Secondary school has agreed to sponsor Kasupe Primary School in Malawi. The 370 pupils there will be given a meal every day thanks to the money that will be raised this year by donations from Hillpark pupils, parents, staff and friends.

Hillpark Craft Club has designed a badge and thanks to a generous donation from Arnold Clark Motors, has been able to commission these badges for sale. All the money raised will go directly to help Kasupe Primary School.

The Head teacher of Kasupe school, Collins Chimkweza, has sent us a message,

“I was happy to learn that you are the one who is working hard to have our learners fed with porridge. My God bless you. This porridge is assisting learners in many ways. Most of the learners come from poor families which do not afford to give them breakfast. So they are fed with porridge when they come to school. Absenteeism and dropout has been reduced. Their health has improved.”

You can help to support Hillpark’s fund-raising effort by buying a badge or supporting the various fund-raising activities that will take place during this session.
